Com a maior nota de partida do aparelho (A= 5,9), Izbasa  cometeu uma falha grav\u00edssima: sair com os dois p\u00e9s da \u00e1rea de competi\u00e7\u00e3o  ap\u00f3s a realiza\u00e7\u00e3o da sua segunda sequ\u00eancia acrob\u00e1tica. Tal erro lhe  custou oito d\u00e9cimos (0,8) de penaliza\u00e7\u00e3o sobre a nota final. Sandra  poderia ter sido a primeira ginasta romena, desde Andreea Raducan, a  conseguir a medalha de ouro no aparelho.
