Dentre todos os participantes que ir\u00e3o competir (a competi\u00e7\u00e3o s\u00f3 acontece na categoria masculina), a performance mais esperada \u00e9 a do ginasta Paul Hamm. Paul Hamm foi campe\u00e3o ol\u00edmpico do individual geral em Atenas 2004, e depois disso tentou voltar ao esporte por duas vezes. A primeira foi em 2008 e a segunda foi no ano passado. As duas tentativas foram fracassadas pelas les\u00f5es que acometeram o ginasta. No ano passado, tamb\u00e9m, Paul Hamm foi envolvido em uma situa\u00e7\u00e3o embara\u00e7osa ao entrar b\u00eabado em um t\u00e1xi e tentar sair sem pagar. Acho que essa competi\u00e7\u00e3o \u00e9 uma \u00f3tima oportunidade para Hamm conseguir o prest\u00edgio que ele tinha de volta: ele \u00e9 considerado o melhor ginasta americano de todos os tempos.
